I have come to accept that due to my limited tax preparer skills I am really just here to sit at this desk and do as little as necessary. The guy with the accounting experience is better suited for this, and I'm just making sure he's getting all the returns.
So this Sunday I am at the store holding down the fort knowing full well this will be a slow day since it's Superbowl Sunday. Foot traffic is high in the store, but clearly everyone is focused on the big game and trying to get in and out of here ASAP. Taxes are the last thing on anyone's mind. They are giving Alton more hours and I'm getting put aside.
It's a Catch 22, I don't have experience, so they won't give me hours. Yet I can't get experience unless I work more hours. In the end this job is just another step. I'm not seeing myself working here year after year. I just want to put this on the resume and move onto something else.
